Drunkards Threatens Demo Against Government Over Price Hike

Because of the economic hardships facing Ghanaians, akpeteshi drinkers in the Central Region have threatened to protest against President Akuffo Addo.

Some of the akpeteshi drinkers in the Mfantseman Municipality claimed in an interview with Kasapa FM news that the price increase and economic hardship have significantly reduced the amount of akpeteshi they consume. They claim that while they used to purchase akpeteshi for one cedi, the price has since skyrocketed hence the decision announced that they would be calling for a sit-down strike soon.

they also claimed that since the price went up, no amount of akpeteshi can make them feel satisfied or drunk. They say the economy is difficult to the point where they are unable to purchase akpeteshi and drink until they are content.

They are now requesting that the government lower the price of akpeteshi for them because they do not  believe that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has also had an impact on the price of akpeteshi.
