TikTok Star Peller Apologizes After Attempted Suicide, Says He Will Never Do It Again

Popular TikTok creator Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, has issued a public apology following a recent incident in which he attempted to end his life and was later apprehended by authorities.In a video shared on social media, the content creator expressed deep remorse for his actions and appealed directly to Nigerians for forgiveness. With a visibly emotional tone, Peller repeatedly apologised, saying he was truly sorry and that he would never repeat the behaviour.He also revealed that he is currently receiving medical care, explaining that he will return online once he completes his treatment.

 In his statement, Peller said he was sorry to all Nigerians and asked for understanding and support during his recovery.The incident reportedly unfolded amid personal turmoil linked to his breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis. According to reports, the pair had ended their relationship, and the emotional fallout appeared to have contributed to Peller’s distress. The situation escalated when he was seen livestreaming while driving on a major Lagos highway, displaying signs of emotional instability.Peller’s dangerous driving culminated in a serious car crash on the Lekki–Epe Expressway, prompting the intervention of the Lagos State Police Command. Police confirmed that he was arrested on suspicion of attempting to harm himself and endangering other road users.

 Following his arrest, the matter was handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, and Peller is expected to be charged once inquiries conclude.The episode has drawn strong reactions across social media, with some Nigerians expressing concern for Peller’s mental health and others urging content creators to exercise caution in how they engage with audiences online.The Commissioner of Police in Lagos also issued a warning to influencers and digital personalities, reminding them that reckless behaviour shared on social platforms can have serious legal consequences.Peller’s apology marks his first public statement since the incident, as he continues his recovery and faces ongoing legal scrutiny.
